The LokPilot 5 is the flagship model of the LokPilot family and is suitable for almost all applications on H0 and O gauge locomotives.
LokPilot 5 decoders are available with all common interfaces.
Operating Modes
The LokPilot 5 is a true multi-protocol decoder. It supports the DCC data format, as well as Motorola®, Selectrix®, and M4. In DCC format, the standard includes 14 to 128 speed steps, as well as 2- and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders are fully automatic and can be registered with a compatible digital control station.
It is compatible with all DCC programming modes, and thanks to RailCom®, CV values can be read on the main track by compatible control units. Auxiliary registers are available for control units that can only program CV 1-255.
Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps in 255 directions. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable 16 functions. An integrated programming mode also allows reprogramming with the reputable 6021 Control Unit. The M4 protocol enables automatic registration with mfx®-compatible control panels. It features 32 function keys.
The LokPilot 5 decoder recognizes Märklin® braking sections, as well as ZIMO® HLU/ZACK commands and the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC or DC voltage brake modules is also possible. Furthermore, it can even stop with a Selectrix® brake diode. The ABC shuttle train function allows automatic transport between two stations.
The LokPilot 5 decoder can be used on both DC and AC analog model railways.
The decoder switches between operating modes fully automatically and on the fly. In most cases, no adjustments are required. Functions
We know you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. That's why we've equipped the LokPilot 5 with function outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 decoder offers at least 10 amplified function outputs, each with an output current of 250 mA. Versions with the PluX22 or 21MTC interface add 4 additional outputs for servo control or logic-level outputs. It includes all the essential lighting functions. The brightness of each output can be adjusted individually. The decoder supports automatic coupling and decoupling of ROCO®, Krois®, and Telex® couplers.
Motor Control
The LokPilot 5's motor control has been radically improved once again. An adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10 kHz to 50 kHz ensures exceptionally quiet operation, especially with coreless motors: the typical hum is a thing of the past. The load control now adapts to even the most demanding situations with up to 10 hp. The exclusive "Autotune" function allows the decoder to automatically calibrate itself to the motor. With a motor current of up to 1.5 A, the LokPilot 5 decoder provides sufficient power even for older motors.
Operational safety
A PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 upon request to bypass dirty track sections.
Protection
Naturally, all function outputs and the motor output are protected against overloads. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
